LET'S TALK!: Community Forum about Local Coverage of Underrepresented Groups
Ritz Theatre, 700 E. Washington Drive, High Point
TABJ is planning a community forum to allow local readers and viewers to tell us how they feel about coverage of underrepresented groups in Triad media. A member the National Conference for Community and Justice of the Piedmont-Triad (NCCJ) will moderate this discussion.
TABJ's goal is to better understand what local residents identify as positive and negative coverage of their communities and get suggestions on how local media outlets can improve their coverage of underrepresented groups, such as Hispanics, Asians, Muslims and the LGBT community.
After the forum, TABJ will ask the participants to complete a survey and list story ideas and/or suggestions. TABJ will present the community members' concerns to local newsroom managers and editors.
