Our very own Dr. Linda Callahan received the Journalism Educator of the Year award during the opening ceremony on July 30. Also, NABJ announced that Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists earned the NABJ Professional Chapter of the Year award. TABJ was competing against the Philadelphia and New York chapters.
On Aug. 2, WFMY News 2 legend Sandra Hughes was honored with the Chuck Stone Lifetime Achievement Award during the Salute to Excellence Gala.
Instructors and staff from Elon University, N.C. A&T and Bennett College were panelists in some of the programs, including TABJ members Bonnie Newman-Davis and Nagatha Tonkins.
